"Strip, Stain & Reface"

This is one of our more popular solutions to cabinets in need of some changes.  When a home has decent cabinet boxes with a dated or failing finish, we often recommend stripping the cabinet boxes, getting all new doors and drawer fronts in the same type of wood and staining it all to match.  The results are dramatic, fast & cost-effective.

We start by helping you select a new door style from among hundreds of options. Then we discuss  a color and sheen.  Once the aesthetics are settled, we remove the old doors.  Then we carefully strip the old cabinet boxes down to bare wood.  As past customers can attest, the stripping process is pretty painless.  The next step is to stain the wood. Then we seal it with 2 uv resistant clear topcoats.  The new doors, meanwhile, are finished in our shop.  We install the new doors with Blum concealed hinges w/ soft-close.

To further improve the function of the cabinets, we recommend installing new dovetailed drawer boxes with full-extension guides.  The smooth function of the new drawers will be a difference of night and day from the old.

Couple this process with new appliances and new countertops and you have a brand new kitchen at literally a fraction of the price.

**This process is better than refacing the cabinet boxes with veneer because as veneer ages it will chip and delaminate from the original boxes.  With this 'featured process', when you restain the boxes themselves, the finish is in the solid wood and will last longer as a result.
